I was going through my music and i came up with
Green Day. I know what you are thinking...OH NO! not those "ima kill miself" emo dudes, but the song i came up with was one of their oldie classic punk rock songs. It was made back in 1993 and Green Day was the first "rock" band i had started liking (back in the day WE were ALL slaves to pop....YES admit it u n'sync fagboys and spears denial people).

The song took me back to when i was in 6th grade. I was starting to go to an all-english-speaking school and i was very nervous. I mean, spend 8 years learning spanish and learning the latino way of doing things in school (truuuust me, its way different) and then go to english hahahaha. I had a hard time getting into the whole "just speak english" perspective. Of course, it all paid off right. i mean i am at an american college with a lot of grin...ahem....american buds hahahaha.

But you might be asking, what makes this song or the band so important? Simple answer would be that it was a time were i was finding something new and meaningful in my life. I was growing out of the kid to be a teenager. And Green Day started as a small portion of the long journey we all take in life....finding who you are. Your personality, your likes, dislikes, your character, your priorities. I mean face it, before 6th grade we had no idea what was ahead of us. All we cared about was friends and saturday morning cartoons.

Its very similar to what happened to Green Day. Look at them now. They are NOTHING compared to what they were before. Full of life and jokes and personality. Now days they fell to what the media wanted at the time and destroyed that inner child they had for fame and money.
(of course, its not like change is bad and Green Day lost their fans...its more like they betrayed what made them at first and went on with the flow).

As for us...We wanted to have fun.

And now that i am an "adult"...it made me think of what is now in store for me in the days to come.

Gosh i'm bored :P
